If I win my National American Miss state pageant for New York I would like to be in a parade. I don't know how to start. Do you ride in a convertible? How do you ride on float? How do you get a float? I am a little confused because it counts toward my community service!

Also, will everyone check out my fund raising websites to raise the funds needed for my pageant! Please and thank you!

To be in a parade, your pageant organizers need to contact the parade chairmen for the pageant participants to be in the parade. The organizers would also determine if they want the girls to ride on a float or in cars, as all of these would have to be rented. A parade does not consist of people just showing up at an appointed time and being in a parade. There are months of planning that takes place to ensure that all goes well on the day of the parade.

To help with community service, volunteer at a not-for-profit group, such as the YMCA, a church or a school.

The parades in New York and Manhattan are run by a very large group and they start planning very far in advance. If you are not an employee of one of the stores sponsoring the parade, or have been invited by the planning committee to participate, I cannot see you getting into one of these parades.

Good luck on your pageant.

Macy's employees are in the parade. If you work at Macy's you can be in the parade.
