It is definitely a prime number since no number can be divided into it evenly. Even dividing by 3, the only number that can go into 9 evenly, results in a remainder.

Let's see. 21^2 = 441 and 22^2 = 484, so the square root of 479 is somewhere in between 21 and 22. This means we only have to test for prime numbers up through 21.

479 isn't even, and its digits add up to 20 which isn't divisible by 3. So it's not divisible by 2 or 3.

479 doesn't end in a 0 or 5, so it's not divisible by 5.

Manually dividing 479 by 7, 11, 13, 17 and 19 doesn't yield any whole numbers. So 479 is prime.

I think it is a prime number actually, not a composite number. Factors are: 1, and 479, which makes it a prime number.

24 is a composite number. A composite number is a positive integer which has a positive divisor other than one or itself. for instance 3 x 8 = 24 or 4 x 6 = 24 and 2 x 12 = 24. Good Luck! I hope this helps.
