Since January when the Dems took power in both houses they have not been able to do anything they promised?

Is it Bush's fault that he has not been impeached??

Why aren't the troops home?

Dennis Kucinich is trying to Impeach Dick Cheney today. Big talk from the guy who believes in little green men.

Mr. Modern: I don't need a civics class to know that Democrats don't have the guts to Impeach anyone or bring the troops home like they promised in the 2006 elections.

You have to ask the question(s) why haven't the members of Congress tried to pass laws against what they are complaining of.
They say they disapprove of waterboarding; where is the bill?
They say the military is overextended; where is the bill to expand the armed forces to pre-Clinton levels?
They didn't like FEMAs response during Katrina; where is the bill to overhaul FEMA?
I could go down the list;
illegal immigration
degraded infrastructure
wild fires in California
global warming
water shortages in the southeast
high oil prices
etc., etc., etc

No bills to fix these problems, only talk! They don't want them fixed, they want them to talk about.
Just like the candidates running for office; where are their attempts to fix what they are running for?
Only Tancredo, Hunter have repeatedly submitted bills against illegal immigration.
Only McCain submitted a bill to reform immigration, but he was on the wrong side.
Face it, all the democrats are weak. All talk and let the country suffer. Even Al Gore, if global warming is that big of a threat why doesn't he restrict his life style and be an example.

While Democrats could impeach him in the House, to remove him from office takes a 2/3 vote in the Senate, meaning 20 or so Republican votes. You can't expect that many Republicans to vote against Bush.

So in the end, impeaching him but not removing him from office would look like no more than a political vendetta, a media circus. Like the Republicans did with Clinton.

Consider that during Clinton's two terms, his highest popularity numbers in all that time were when the Republicans were impeaching him! And his numbers never dropped below 65% after that!

Also, if the impeachment process began, it would be both Bush -and- Cheney, and it would start in the House. Who is the speaker of the house? Nancy Pelosi. Who would become president when Bush and Cheney were gone? Nancy Pelosi! How do you think the Republicans are going t make that look? 8^)

The irony is that every day Bush stays in office he hurts the party more. After they lose the White House, one year from today, there will be a struggle in the GOP ending up with new leadership and a few years of 'rebuilding'. The 'neoconservative' era is OVER. So let's wait and see what kind of evil they come up with next.

Actually they have passed most of what they promised. Bush has vetoed some - other elements have become law (for instance minimum wage increase and actually allowing working class students to attend university without being saddled for life with crippling debt).
As for why they do not impeach Bush. Being incompetent and refusing to listen to the will of the people are not crimes. You can only be impeached if you have actually committed a crime. And so rather than manufacture or invent one that had no chance of actually sticking (as the Republicans did to Clinton) the Dems have continued to do thier best to last out the small amount of time before this recalcitrant, irresponsible president is put out to pasture.

They promised to take impeachment off the table.

Of course, they'll regret that later. Hillary gets elected in '08. The economy gets so much better, people forget about 2.75 gas prices, and listen when the Repubs scream about character (which is all they'll have to run on in the '10 midterms).

Republican majorities get elected in 2010...

...and Hillary gets impeached in 2011.

The Democrats will regret not impeaching Bush when they had the chance.

No, the Dems have passed all kinds of thing they promised including raising the minimum wage.

The reality is they don't have enough votes to force Bush to change course. But, don't worry, in January 2009, the Democrats will have all we need to end the war are restore America to greatness.

With any luck, they will have the courage to prosecute Bush and Cheney and put them where they belong, prison.

The Dems can't get anything done because Bush keeps vetoing them. You can't impeach him because you need a 2/3s vote and only a little over half are Democrats. The troops aren't home because you can't just leave Iraq cold turkey like that. Then we would get the reputation of not finishing what we started and even more countries would look down on us.

Now, it's because there isn't enough time.

But Before...it's because they were chickens......chickens with good reason, though! I think they are totally afraid of Cheney...for ex., in Pennsylvania...senator Arlen Spector, known for years to be outspoken and opinionated was one of the few people to object to the loss of Habeaus Corpus rights...he said it was unconstitutional....but a day after his objection...he decided to sign it anyway and then said that although he disagrees, he will put it through and let the courts decide if it is unconstitutional. (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Is that not crazy???? Now, Arlen Spector is an interesting guy, but is that not a little bit suspicious? Why would a senator pass something that he doesn't agree with...something that he found unconstitutional??? It sounds to me like someone called him with some threats. (oooh...i know i know...conspiracy...get real people...this crap happens every day).

Can't impeach a President when you don't have 2/3 control of both houses. You also need an impeachable offense first, which it is arguable whether there is "proof" etc.

On what grounds? He has not done anything wrong. Peace!
He is a great, hardworking, intelligent person. Can you say the same for any of the Dems in the power house? I think not.

Obviously you flunked civics like pelosi & reid.

democrats may "control congress", they do NOT have enough votes to over-ride a veto or to impeach anyone.

They are even lamer than lame duck bush!
