Who is your agent is the main question. If you have one of those on-line "agents" you are being swindled. You need a copy of Brian O'Neil's Acting as a Business which will tell you how to get work as an actor. Only thing is you have to be an actor with experience and training and all. If you ain't that, you aren't going to get any jobs. And you need your parents to help if you are under 18

Ask yourself a question and then ask the same question to some experienced teachers and other professionals in the industry. "Do I really know how to act?" and "Am I really ready to start auditioning?"

If everyone answers yes to those two questions, then have a look at these page links: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/find_a_talent_agent.html

With regard to having an agent, think about this. The agent gets 10% of the money you make. You are new, with no experience. The agent has lots of other clients who are making them money and who the agent knows will continue to make them money. You have no track record yet. Now, do you think it would be wise for you to put all your trust in an agent to get you ALL your auditions?

You have to do some things yourself. If you think about the 10%/90% rule, that's a winning attitude. In other words, you do 90% of the work to get you your own jobs.
You'll find 17 things you can do today on the page link I gave you above. By the way, that list came about through a recent conversation I had with Brian O'Neil, the guy who wrote the book TheatreDoc told you about. I also recommend you reading it.

Good luck!

Tony
