miss ellie,
There is a new exhibit at the science center called "body works" Its plasticized real humans cavavers with out any skin, Not sure of costs babe I am going on 11/19 its right across from the St. Louis Zoo (Zoo is free to enter pay to park though) See the art Musuem also free , All of these are around what We call Forest Park

Tour the Anheasur Busch brewery (Free) on S. broadway See the Arch is an awesome site to see nothing taller in downtown, you can go right to the top by way of egg shaped fits about 4 tightly these elevators that you sit down in! Fantastic view from the top!!! , Six Flags it may be closed by now thats 20 minutews from me If you like Spaghetti...I highly recommend the "Spaghetti Factory" OMG good food there and a river boat casino right by it and the Arch , Go the the hill a Italian area where the best Italian food can be found its off of intersections of Interstate 44 and Kingshighway in South St. Louis , Go to
Charlie Gitto's on the Hill (real good food)
charliegittos.com
see also Missoui botantical garden its in South St. Louis also a huge indoor garden under a geodesic dome

lighter side go get the best frozen custard ever made at Ted Drewes in South St. Louis again..

tips on roadwork U.S 40/64 is under major I mean major reconstruction expect delays if traveling this hwy east of U.S, 67 (Lindbergh blvd.) I mean it going to be completely closed in 01/02/08 for a year or more all the thru what we call midtown ,
Clayton, Richmond heights, , West St. Louis City (like near forest park) ect.. See MOdots webpage..

Avoid hotel stays north of the city or even more then 3 miles from airport...
Stay in Clayton MO for best Hotel /and ease to travel to sites it central to all
but its North of 40/64 hwy construction and may impact time of travel but real good hotels are near there, or next best bet Fenton, MO for a large grouping of hotel/ motels about a 1/2 hour from me with easy access to majir interstate hwys 44/270/ and 55 is nearby like 5 mile at most. so there is the scoup.. have fun
!!!

miss ellie, I think NIF will be on a little later and I'm sure HE can tell you everything there is to see since HE is from St. Louis area! But I do know that the Arch is an awesome site to see, you can go right to the top by way of little elevators that you sit down in! Fantastic view from the top!!! There is also the St. Louis zoo, Six Flags if you are into amusement parks and lots more! If you like Spaghetti...I highly recommend the "Spaghetti Factory" restaurant...loved it when I was there many years ago and not far away from the Arch (if it's still there)!!! =D

NIF can tell you lots more!!! ;o)

ALTHOUGH, I'VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO SPEND THE TIME IN THE AREA THAT I'VE WANTED, THERE ARE MANY, MANY HISTORICAL PLACES IN THE AREA. ONE HUGE THINGS ARE THE
MOUNDS, ALL TYPES & DESCRIPTIONS. THAT IS IF YOUR INTERESTED IN THE HISTORICAL ASPECTS OF THE AREA.
FOR MANY, MANY YEARS THESE MOUNDS WERE THOUGHT TO BE MADE BY ANYTHING FROM, ANCIENT CULTURES LONG GONE.(NOT NATIVE OF COURSE) ALSO, MANY MANY OTHER
THINGS, LETS NOT FORGET BER-B-QUE IS FAMOUS "ALL OVER THE AREA" PERSONALLY WOULD PUT THEIR BAR-B-QUE
RIGHT UP THERE WITH KC's. I PERSONALLY LOVE A MUSTARD
SAUSE W/MESQUITE. "STROKES FOR THE FOLKS" YOU KNOW!!
I'M SURE ONCE YA GET THERE , YOU'LL FIND PLENTY TO DO!!
ESPECIALLY IN LIKE A 50 OR SO MILE RADIUS...........LOL
