Ok, i fully understand the formula and how to apply it, its simple actually. The only thing i do not get is how to find an end point when a mid point and 1 end point is given algebracially using the middpoint formula?
if (4,3) is the mid point and (0, -4) is the end point, what is the toehr end point?

there are too many differen't answers. I repeat using midpoint forumula in alebra, None of the easy ways of just finding the differenece than adding!

you have to use the distance formula now.
You just insert in the midpoint where it is suppose
to be and the other endpoint.

okay. so like, imagine a line, and the midpoint & that end point. so the midpoint is basically the average of the x values and the average of the y values. this is also ( (x1 + x2) / 2, (y1 + y2 / 2) the answer is (8, 10) because if the midpoint is going to be (4, 3) and (0, -4) is one of the endpoints, then the other endpoint has to be the same distance from the midpoint as (0, -4). soo, the distance between (0, -4) and (4, 3) in the x-value is 4, so add 4 to the midpoint. so you have 7 as the x value for the endpoint. then, the distance between -4 and 3, the y-values, is 7, so you add 10. sorry, its a bit confusing how i explained it but i hope it helps

Simple.
Distance from Midpoint to end point is:
(4,3) - (0,-4) = (4, 7)
Add that difference to the midpoint to get result:
(4,7) + (4,3) = (8, 10)

use the midpoint formula
x= xsub1 + x sub2 all over 2
then plug in the values
4=x sub1 + 0 /2
the x coordinate of the other point is 8
repeat the same procedure with y an you'll have 10
so the coordinates of the point is (8, 10)

let the other endpoint be unknown (x, y) then using the formula Midpoint = ((X + x)/2, (Y +y)/2)
(4,3) = ((0 + x)/2, (-4 + y)/2)
match up corresponding parts
4 = (0 + x)/2 and 3 = (-4 + y)/2 solve for the x and y

subtract the midpoint from the end point...this will give you how many points there ar between those two points...then add that to the midpoint and that will give you the other end point
