As a Phillies fan, and a Baseball fanatic. Rolen should consider himself lucky that he had the opportunity to win a Championship. Loads of good players keep their mouths shut and just play, but in the day and age of high priced agents, and salaries. We have built up to what we have in the sport today.

Rolen is the tip of the iceberg as far as spoiled players go. He should try and get through a season without spending the better part of it on the DL, and then he could command such demands.

If he isn't careful he could find himself on a team that has no chance of contending. No doubt he has a "No Trade Clause" built into his contract. If I was the GM I would try to unload him for some young pitching he must be killing their cap.

I think Rolen just wants to be on a team where he is in the spotlight. Since the Cards have more talented players than him on the team, he really feels like just a minor part. I say ship him off to somewhere like Washington or Florida and get what you can for him while he still has some value.

Tony and Scott did have some problems. Tony tried to talk with him and work it out. I really like Scott, but he doesn't seem to want to work it out at this point. Maybe during the off season they can fix this. Tony is not unapproachable in the least. I always wonder how people from other states always seem to know so much about other teams. Like Tony said if they can settle this great, if not they can still play baseball. I'm sure most of you don't get all the info on the Cardinals like we in St Louis do. The reason the Phillies boo Scott is because he left that team to come to St. Louis for less money then the Phillies offered him to stay.

This isn't surprising at all if it's true. I remember Rolen's days in Philadelphia and it was a lot of the same whining. The fans never really took to him and he clashed with Larry Bowa too. If the LaRussa thing was his first offense, I might be inclined to give him a pass but clearly this is Scottie being his crybaby self. There's a reason after so many years they still boo him when he comes to Philadelphia

He spends more time in the trainer's room than the locker room....his value is probably nil, because he would really whine as a spot starter or DH just to try and get a relatively full season for his contract.

It has been stated in the NATIONAL media that the reason he is squaking is that he and LaRussa had a blow up....even Tony states that he and Rolen are NOT on speaking terms....How is a player supposed to be able to play when the MANAGER is NOT approachable.....I say Scott has every right to be Be...aaaching... about this.....
