Typical liberal democRAT. You're making an apples to oranges comparison (comparing two things that have no relationship to each other, for those of you that attended public schooling).

a. Philadelphia had been a democRAT stronghold for decades.
b. Philadelphia is a city. Iraq is a nation. The fighting there is on a much larger scale.
c. US city homicides are generally 1 on 1 killings, and not mass warfare.

Good luck to the new democRAT mayor of Philadelphia. Hopefully he clean up the city (like most cities in the northeast US-its filthy), and get the organized crime out.

Well, if we weren't spending so much money on this war perhaps Philly could have been cleaned up by now and the education system improved for kids and adults to make something of themselves.

Congress' ratings are so low because the spineless Dems keep giving Bush what he wants. Perhaps this will change now that Impeachment is now back on the table thanks to Kucinich and the GOP. If the Dems played their cards right and did the right thing and actually voted for impeachment of Cheney, they could IMPROVE those ratings by an ADDITIONAL 40% or more.

And, Engler (Republican) pretty much bankrupted the State of Michigan during his years there. Granholm is still trying to dig that state out of it's depression caused by Engler and the policies of the Bush administration. What's your point? We have two parties that are stupid as it gets and you're simply pointing to the Dems. Give me a break here. The GOP has proven them even more corrupt than the dems and you still haven't a clue do you.

also this year, the race to replace a deceased Congressman in Massachusetts was won by the Democrat 51 to 49.

No Republican has been elected from this district in over 40 years.

It's an IRAQI civil war. No where did you even mention IRAQI deaths. Or don't they matter to you? You're comparing street homicides with road side bombs that kill hundreds of men, women and children at a time.
