For free try geocities.yahoo.com else you may find step by step guide on how to create a web site at websites like http://oktutorial.com/webdesign.htm

If you do not know how to program then I would use a developer like Frontpage. This will create the code for you.

1) Buy a domain - Godaddy.Com 10.00 year
2) Buy hosting -
http://www.3ix.org/sys/aff.php?aff=2699...
They offer hosting for as low as 1 dollar a month but I use the 3 dollar package because it gives you the online web builder so you do not have to do the programming.

Design your site and you are off and running.. So you can have a site running for as little as 22.00 a year.

You have to start somewhere .. It is always a work in progress.. Start small and work your way up.. It might sound difficult but it is not.

Above is the services that I use because I have found them to be the less expensive way but there are many places that you can register a domain and get hosting.

Let me know if you have any questions about startup.

Thanks
Will

There's actually a few ways. One, you can sign up for a free website such as at Yahoo! Geocities and use their webuilder. Two, you can find free website builders online by doing a Google search. Three, learn web programming and upload to a free service or sign up with a web host. Four, hire someone to make it for you (or unless you have a friend who'd do it for free and teach you how yourself).

It depends on what kind of website you're making. Since you are a novice, I suggest going to freewebs.com and becoming a member. It's quick and easy. There is no cost and you don't have to use codes like HTML or XML. You will see everything that you are editing so you won't be confused. Good Luck!
