what are some current problems Netherlands is facing today?

Like most industrialized countries, there is a problem of the aging population and its impact on the economy (the costs of the retirement system, which is very generous in the country). Second, the number of migrant workers from Turkey especially (and Muslims from all countries) is creating political friction within the country (as throughout most of Europe). This has been an ongoing problem as European extremists are gaining political ground in many countries, including the Netherlands.

Another problem:
Second generation youths from muslim background who are born here but grown in thier own strict muslim family have difficulty adjusting dutch culture and society. They feel themselves neither dutch nor their country of origin from foreparents. Result is they do not finish school, they are unemployed and finally ending up in the circle of criminals, robbers, drug users and also extremist acting against society, culture and general public.

I think a major problem the Dutch are facing is that we have become quite negative. Everything seems to be a problem, nothing is good enough. Instead of looking up to people who are doing well we try to tear them down...
