If it is still wet clean it up with warm water. I would use a wet/dry vac so that I didn't soak the whole area. The pigment in the paint may stain the carpet. Warm soapy water would be my first try.

latex is a water based paint which makes it somewhat user friendly when it comes to clean up.Get a wet vac and after you glob up the worst of the paint, scrub warm soapy water onto the spill and wet vac thoroughly until clean.

if its not too much they sell OOPS!! cleaner at just about any hardware store. In the mean time, clean with soap and water, lots of rags. Wet and dry ones. Wax on wax off. Then use bleach. Dont forget a shop vac, and warm water works best.

The important thing is to not let it dry...if it does, it's that much harder to get out...I would think your best bet is to get shampoo in a spray can with a scrubbing brush...spray it on and lather it up..use warm water to rinse it and repeat as necessary...
