I have a friend in great need with 3 children. She is literally not eating so her kids can! Can someone please help me with serious places and advise on where I can send her for help other than social services. I will not get into the details of her situation but they will not help her.

In detroit, there are plenty of churches that give away food! On Thursdays, there is this church by tireman/wyoming, that passed out food every thursday. Have that person to call Capuchin as well at 313 925-0514. The earlier the better. You can also call them to get on their Thanksgiving and Chrismas lists, if this person has children. And also check out some of the Catholic churches. Good luck!

I know Taylor had a food program, if she lives in the city check with city hall. Also I remember the church across from Southland Mall had a food resource program. I hope your friend finds the help she needs.

She should call the Welfare Department in Southeast Michigan and ask for assistance for herself and children, or, you can call for her, if you think she is too embarassed to call.

She can try out Focus Hope. Then theres Soup Kitchens she can visit as well.
