I think I'll live a very very lonely life. Don't get me wrong, I make acquaintances at work and at school very easily. I can talk to just about anyone, and most people like me because I'm friendly.
The problem is once I get to know someone for awhile, I start to get bored. Needless to say, none of my acquaintances become friends, and I have no friend at all.
I am friendly but I do have to fake being interested in people most of the time.
How can I become genuinely interested in other people? I'm not an ******, by the way.

You just need to grow up and stop being so selfish. A friendship is about a two person relationship.

You must unmistakably be witty . You have some kind of gift for analyzing people. You can psyche people up hands down, that's what you do. No wonder you have an overflow of confidence. You probably have been doing that for years until one day, you're no longer thrilled, nothing new & appealing you figured, so you sink & drown in ennui. Relax, you're yet to find the most interesting thing in people. It's high time that you got out of that witty shell of yours & break your long-been-overdue monotony. Enjoy the weather & a stroll in the park with your old buddies, a hearty laugh with your cute next door neighbor. You probably have found the most interesting people already & you just may not be aware of it. The best things in life are free. These precious things are just there somewhere. think about it this way, if you are getting bored of people then you are not worth being a friend with..
because you can't say these things and they really hurt, just try and feel it yourself if someone fakes his/her interest toward you, won't it hurt you?
it can't be all the people you know are that much boring!

WOW! I feel the EXACT same way!
I'm in my 40's and I've dealt with this my whole life. I think instead of feeling like there's something wrong with me, I now accept myself the way I am.
