The other day I was using my laptop, an HP, 3 years old, running XP Pro. It froze, I rebooted, and got a black & white message screen saying "sorry to interrupt but we're protecting Windows from running as it seems there is a problem..." etc etc. I could choose from "Run normal," "Run last known good date," "Run safe mode" and something else. None of them worked. I reboot, get the HP screen, get the Windows XP screen, then it kicks me back to the error message. I call HP, on the phone for one hour with the tech, we run a hard drive test, all come back complete. Try to run using the WinXP disk, nothing. Try to reinstall op sys, nothing.
HP is sending me a box to mail it to them to fix as its under warranty.

Today I take it to a PC repair guy. He pops out the hard drive and usb cables it to his PC. His PC reboots. Try again, it reboots again. He said he's never seen that happen in his life. What the F is wrong with my laptop/hard drive?????

Thanks

Let hp fix it. If it is a motherboard problem or piece of hardware (I have seen a failed wireless or netwok card do this) they can substitute known good components to identify the problem. If it is hard drive they will re-install it to factory. I hope the engineer left no sign of his access to the drive, as this will invalidate the warranty.

That sounds lke a memory problem.....Try installing new ram to see if that would work. You already did a hard drive test and it cam back clean, but don't always believe that. I had a situation where I installed windows and upon reboot it could not start windows, no matter what I did. I tried out another drive and it work perfectly. Another situation I was going through the same problem with another pc. After trying my first method, I replaced the RAM and upon reboot the pc worked perfectly.

Hi. Well the problem certainly is not that drive. There could be a memory problem, a motherboard problem, or a number of other things. The real test would be for the PC repair guy to put in one of his working drives and see if your machine boots.

it ought to in basic terms be the table scraps or it must be something greater extreme... My dogs has an extremely comfortable abdomen and if I provide her something from the table, she has the runs for the next day or 2, and she or he's particularly gassy. Blood in her poop isn't good, nevertheless lower back, it ought to in basic terms be the foodstuff... if you are going to grant her table scraps, shrink it to a small quantity of meat and/or you are able to pour the juices from the beef (in case you baked chicken or roast, as an occasion) over her dogs foodstuff. attempt to shrink something with too many spices and something that doesn't fall into the beef class. you may take a pattern of her poop into the vet the next day as nicely... yet you additionally can probable look ahead to an afternoon if she seems thoroughly high quality otherwise, with none table scraps in any respect, to verify if it gets greater appropriate.

I would send it to HP, you can't always trust your repair man since he could ask for extra money. I would use HP.

If the harddrive didn't work on his computer , and on your laptop , there's something wrong with your hard drive. If it is completley inaccesable , then buy a new drive.
