geez, capitalism bashing, but no explanation for not going to one of the wonderful places the US should be more like ;)

streez...socialist governments take money from citizens and provide services to the citizens. Communist governments try to make sure everyone has the exact same amount (of misery), except for the people in charge.

Sadly enough, a system of government in which some people don't have as much as others seems to be the only one that actually works. It's just an unfortunate aspect of human nature that will never change. Communism and socialism might look good on paper, but when they're implemented, they never work and always lead to a more corrupt system of government than what they are trying to replace.

The problems isn't capitalism, its deregulated capitalism. There must be some regulations or it leads to scams, over pricing, bad products, losses to the employees, and on and on as we have seen lately. Look at all the foreclosures. That was due to deregulation. The same thing happened when Reagan deregulated everything.

Look at our so-called free trade agreements. There must be regulations. Also, with the loss of so many manufacturers and huge corporations like Walmart, we have lost one of the necessary elements to making capitalism work for the consumers as well which is competition. The competition now rests in the workforce, not the product. Bad situation. Capitalism is great until it is unleashed. We have to have laws that keep it in check. Otherwise, we are going to wind up little more than slaves. It is a bit more complicated than your question suggests.

You are ill informed, The US supported Dictators ( including Hitler) , it supported terrorism world wide for the past 50 years or so. One reason for this is it tried to curb democracy and the result is the US contributed to world starvation by its maintenance of war upon these countries..

Pakistan is another example of the US supporting a dictator
against the best wishes of people

Take Rwanda by example, the recent genocide there wasnt genocide it was a coup sponsored by the US. The US endorsed the new president of Rwanda, yet it is a man responsible for atrocities

true : there were more HUTU that died in Rwanda than Tutsie and the real body count was 200.000 ( majority HUTU).

5 million people died in Congo ( beside Darfur in Sudan), the equivalent of the Holocaust. But because the dictator there is favorable to the US and UK, you dont ear about it, you ear of genocide in Darfur, yet it is no genocide and the only responsible for atrocities there is the US sponsoring a proxy war with genocidal mercenaries hired from Rwanda..

Capitalism has promoted GREED beyond belief...the gap between the rich and the middle class grows wider every day. Enron is a good example of how the management got theirs by ruining the future of their own employees. All of those people lost their stock and retirement, and it's happened to lots of other companies, too. Closing plants in the US and opening them in foreign countries provides more profit for stockholders, but also causes loss of thousand of jobs. Cities like Detroit are becoming huge ghettos. We are buying so much stuff that we should be building. I don't have the knowledge to fix the problem, but I have the eyes to see what has happened to our beautiful, once-progressive, innovative, healthy country. I just hope some young people will see what is happening and figure out how to get us back to being the respected, strong and self- sustained country we once were!

Brain-washed people don't know they are brain-washed! You probably haven't lived long enough to see the changes that I'v seen. Some things need to be regulated to prevent the rape of America! We have lost more than young lives!

Excellent question. I guess if someone doesn't want to work for a living, capitalism is a bad thing. Personally, I think that everyone has the ability to be rich if they're willing to work for it.

Well then how would you make free people slaves under the guise of " Good of the Nation " . Why would someone like Hilary want to go to Venezuela ? Afterall those people are already living in socialism .

That, my friend, is an excellent question and I have often wondered the same thing. I mean, that's what the liberals want anyway - a socialistic form of government. So instead of bringing our country down to that, they could just go to a different country that is already socialistic.

You can't be a total defender of capitalism, and those last two are forms of government, not economics.

Well, for those communists who really hate capitalism, simply fleeing from it isn't enough. Communism advocates global revolution, they are obliged to overcome the evil of capitalism, everywhere.
