Hi, I have attached a link (below) to your systems User Manual. Open the link and read what it says about your battery light (should open on page 46 of 164).

Basically it is saying that if the battery status light flashes orange or is a steady orange, the battery is low or depleted. Connect the computer to an electrical outlet (with your AC adapter).

If the battery status light flashes green and orange, the battery is too hot to charge. Turn off your computer, disconnect the power and let it cool.

If the light rapidly flashes orange, the battery may be defective.

You decide which type of blinking it is doing and go from there. Batteries only have a 1 year warranty, regardless of the length of your systems warranty. So if your system is older than one year, and it's a problem with the battery, you would need to purchase a new one.

I also attached a link to the website with some battery prices as a reference point.

Good Luck!

Hi. I had the same symptom just before the battery died. I think it may mean a bad cell in the battery. Not fixable in my case.

Your battery has gone into what's known as deep discharge. Your laptop will not operate without the adapter atached. You will need to purchase another battery. Go to www.cdw.com and search on either your laptop's model # or your battery's model #.
