to start with, i am a christmas/winter loving dork. :)
i live in texas so, sadly, we never see real snow. we get a slush sometimes.....or enough ice to close schools, but not snow. so, being a christmas/winter fanatic, i have to come up with other fun things.
there is a skating rink in a mall in my town and during the christmas season they put a huge christmas tree in the middle and my friends and i always go skating.
i have these christmas cupcake tins (snowflakes and snowmen shaped) and i always make cupcakes and decorate the snowflakes with white icing and blue sprinkles and the snowmen with little outfits and stuff!)
i make hot chocolate a lot and love to sit in front of a fire.
to get to see some real snow, i go skiing every year with my aunt and uncle which i just LOVE
another fun thing is we have certain foods, as many people do, that we make around christmas time and we always bake some yummy cookies or peanut butter balls and put them in our mail box for a week or so before christmas for our mail man. i love it! its fun if we are home to see him get it.
i LOVE christmas. we do LOTS of other things but i am supposed to be working, so i am going to go do that now.
have a warm and happy winter!!!

Oh, the grand kids and I love to go snow sledding, and snowboarding there's no place here to ice skate.
We drive over town to find the best hills to slide down.
If we don't have snow we will bake cookies or go to a matinee or make homemade decorations or even a wish list.
That along with the school functions keep us busy.Plus we love to walk the nature trails even in winter.

My wife is from Erie, PA and I have always enjoyed her stories about Frontier Hill which is located in a park in that city. I grew up in Texas where we get very little snow (almost never), but Erie gets a lot of snow! ...and Frontier Hill was a happening place every winter. If I could travel back in time, I would love to visit her there and watch as she slide down that hill over and over as a child. She makes freezing your tail off sound like fun!

Since it is too warm in Phoenix to do ,"wintery", stuff, we drive up to the mountains, (about an hour from Phx.) and play in the snow.

campfire (roasting marshmallows, making a track songs). choose for a brilliant long stroll, no longer having a clue what your holiday spot is, pass to community park and feed ducks. late night buying. baking. tenting, christmas carolling.
