No doubt, the Panama Canal links the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea. Many people make the mistake of thinking the Caribbean Sea is part of the Atlantic Ocean while it is not. A ship can pass directly from the Caribbean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean of course, but they are two distinct and different bodies of water.
