Teenager Music Genres?

Question

If any teenagers are answering this, do you know, off the top of your head who the Beatles are, or who John Lennon is, or David Bowie, or Queen, or Peter Frampton, or how many of you prefer gangsta rap instead of classic rock?

Of course I've heard of The Beatles, David Bowie and Queen. Can't say the same about Peter Frampton. I'm a late 80's to 90's child so I first listened to grunge, then rap took over (go MTV...). My brothers all listened to rap so I listened to it, but they didn't just limit themselves to that, I got a taste of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. I pride myself in being open-minded on music, but I really can't understand hip-hop's appeal. I listen to Metal now, but I also like opera. I'm eclectic.

I know them all, actually, thanks to my dad. I like classic rock a LOT better than gangsta rap for many reasons--classic rock songs don't give me headaches and have lyrics that have some sort of meaning. And the singers of classic rock have much more talent--I mean, come on, rapping is not that great of a talent. I don't think it should even be considered a music genre. I've always liked classic rock-the artists you listed are my favorites, actually.

i dont listen to music that talks about ummm bad stuff i dont listen to coky music either just the ones u listed ......

I know all of them. I perfer rock then rap, but listen to both.

they all affect me in many different ways and i think it's good to have eclectic tastes so you can get a piece of everything in your lifetime XD

i like r&b instead, and stop being so stereotypical and assume we like rap.
