The other contributors have made an error. Tactful is an adjective. The word you are looking for needs to be a noun. Human abilities are abstract nouns. People with those abilities are described with adjectives.

You could try: tact or diplomacy. Diplomacy is the better choice in my opinion.

i think its tact because it includes the ability you mentioned and when I looked it up it was almost word for word
