what if someone got pregnant and they were under 16 ( michigan law says you have to be 16 to do stuff llegally) and your boyfriend was 18, what would happen.

But when the baby was born you would be 16.

Do doctors have to press charges or get the law involved?
What if he never came to anything and was only in the delievery room?
Do you have the right not to tell?

What could all happen in this case?
Can parents have a say in it?

Only serious answers please. Thank you

Boyfriend could be charged with statutory rape. It depends how aggressive your local d.a.'s office is about that stuff. My county once got a grant to crack down on that, but I never hear about it anymore.

some states automatically emancipate pregnant females but I don't know if Michigan is one. The statuatory rape issue is a very good point and it will depend on your state's age of concent. I would go to an agency that deals with crisis pregnancy like Birth Rite and have them help me. As for your parents my gut instinct is to tell them but not knowing them or the law I would not want to say that and then they forced you to abort. I do know of one case in Mississippi where both the girl and the boy were under 16 and the parents forced the couple to give the baby up for adoption.

If the state has statuatory laws then the father could be in trouble. It would rely on the parents of the girl.
The doctors would not get involved unless there was an obvious case of abuse.
The father can be in the delivery room. When a girl becomes pregnant, in the laws eyes she is a woman. She has the right to decide how she is going to deliver and who will be there.
I would be very honest with my parents and expect them to understand that pressing charges on the guy would just cause more chaos to an already stressfull situation.
I hope that helps.

Knowledge of rape is probably enough to report under ethical guidelines. In fact, pretty much anyone in the hospital is obligated to report in California and likely elsewhere too.

It is not like anyone that knows you or her, including her family and everyone at school won't be able to do the math.

What you should do is contact a criminal defense attorney immediately for advice. Don't wait. They are listed in your Yellow Pages under Attorneys, and many offer free consultation.

You are in a heaping big mess, but we are not lawyers in your state - maybe there is a way out only they can tell you.

Quit worrying about the law and start thinking about the life you brought into this world. Its not about you and secrets.....Put the baby up for adoption if you have no means or family to support you. You were adult enough to perform the act so you better grow up in a hurry. The law couldn't think about doing more to you than you did to yourself. DO THE RIGHT THING !

Be mature. Take responsibility for your actions.

Don't murder your baby.
