Why is it that the extreme anti-Bush camp (and even the casual anti-Bush camp) always make fun of the president, and go to great lengths to point out how dumb he is. Yet, when the issue of 9-11 or the Iraq War comes around all the sudden Bush is one of the greatest criminal masterminds in history. So, which is it ...? Is Bush stupid or is he a genius ...? Because you can't have both (and I think the vast majority of the American population can agree on which of the two he is ... all you have to do is listen to him talk for 30 seconds) ...

Please, don't use the "he's so smart he can fool everyone into thinking he's stupid" argument ... if I wanted that kind of debate I'd talk to the schizophrenics outside the 7-11.

My point is to elucidate on how hypocritical certain political philosophies are ... how can you say Bush is an idiot one minute, and then the next say he's a genius ... thats just stupid, but that exactly what they do (and then they get mad when you point it out to them, and they label you a Bush supporter).

This is the answer you seek. The anti-Bush crowd has what I refer to as a "template". They have certain preconceived notions about the world. Everything fits into this template or they make it fit. One of the ways to make something fit their template is to blindly accept all kinds of conflicting and unsubstantiated beliefs. Another is to accept all sorts of conspiracy theories. Whatever the method used, everything must be made to fit into that template.

To them, it simply is not possible that their template is incorrect. So be prepared to see such illogical positions as you have cited or even such contradictory declarations as "The fact that there is no evidence proves there must be a cover-up" or "It is not the lack of evidence that should be considered to conduct an investigation but the seriousness of the charges".

I should just put this in a word document so I can cut and paste whenever this comes up. So here it goes again.

1. Bush is Cheney's meat puppet
2. Cheney and Rummy two guys from the Nixon White House along with PNAC had a vision for the middle east.
3. There was ample intelligence that pointed to an impending attack.
4. Seeing opportunity knock they sent the meat puppet off to clear brush in Crawford and the read books to school children (which worked well with considering Bush was at their reading level).
5. 9-11
6. Send the meat puppet back to Crawford
7. Get Colin Powell to sell his soul
8. Iraq

Hence Bush is an idiot even though 9-11 and Iraq were the result of a masterful criminal conspiracy.

Print this and read it whenever any of you meat puppet apologists gets the urge to feel clever and ask that question. Typing this take time and I hate correcting all my typos.

And what exactly was the point of your question? People love to belittle Bush, just like you say, but they don't give any valid reasons for why he's such a "horrible President".

he's is stupid. not behind 911. he could have known about it, but didn't plan it. or maybe he is really a genius who is so good at acting he can make himself seem stupid all the time and still control the world.

edit- I don't know who "they" are, but I don't think I've EVER heard anyone call him an evil mastermind. I've heard they call him just plan evil, but everyone knows that if he is just the puppet for something less stupid. no way someone so stupid would be able to come up with 911.

I also find it comical when they belittle him for being so stupid when in fact he made better grades at Yale than John D-Student Kerry. Didn't Al Gore get kicked out of Harvard Divinity School? Didn't Al Gore quit Vanderbilt law school?

I think he must be a genius, he even tricked the smartest woman in the world, Sen. Clinton, into voting for the war. That's why they hate him so much.

They can't decide.

I don't know if they are rubbing off on Hillary or, she is rubbing off on them.

Makes no difference what they think anyway. He is obviously much more brilliant than anyone who logs on here.
