I'm so sick of hearing it, when the most popular music artists are American, the most popular fast food chains are American, the most popular T.V programmes are American. The most popular clothing brands are American, It's in the top five most visited destinations by Brits.

There is hardly an area of Britain left that is not highly influenced by America. And I don't know anyone who HATES America. Maybe the government, but not the people.

Lol. I only said that cause of the amount of "why do British people hate American's" I've seen. And some of the answers are amazingly ignorant.

Most of the comments here say they don't hate america but then say they hate the food, films, etc. i think that's another misconception. i'm american and i don't eat burgers or hotdogs, or whatever it is you think we do, all the time. it's funny though because i probably don't have much of a say in defending because my parents are immigrants and i probably dont really have the "american culture" since we refer to others as americans to and also mention things such as the food, and way of life.my point? not everything you see in the media is true hardly anybody has a great lifestyle and works in some office somewhere with a manicured front lawn and a white picket fence. And the accent most of you do when you immitate americans is a southern accent which is only used in the saouth and is ridiculed by most here(sadly). you meet with different people everywhere and i'm sure if i went to britain, i would find that not everyone is rich, has bad teeth, and drinks tea and crumpets every half hour. or maybe i would i dunno u tell me.And the girl who said the french treated her horrible? well i happen to know that most french people are nice and will help out if you make an effort to speak the language. but if you walk around like a stupid american going"O MY GOooD!LIKE DOESN'T ANYONE SPEAK ENGLISH" or expect them to understand you(fyi- americans don't like it when people go to their country and dont speak english, but expect everybody in another country to do so just because they're american, yes i'm american and hate this) they will be rude to you most of them do know english but they'll pretend they don't. But yeah you cant just assume you know a whole country just because you've met a few people from there or base your opinion of them solely on what you see portrayued in the media

Which conservatives? there is in basic terms a handful left, comrade, and that they do no longer seem to be in Washington. i do no longer think of all individuals hates conservatives, through fact people have not got any thought what a real American conservative is. Goldwater, Buckley, and Reagan are all lifeless alongside with the Founders. What you spot now's liberals battling liberals and State Capitalists battling State Capitalists. And this is gonna be exciting to video reveal from the camouflaged protection of the rock i'm hiding under. i'm rooting for Trotsky this time, yet i think of the Clintonistas will prevail. the consequence could be the comparable, and man or woman liberty worldwide would be curtailed so as to grant for the "physique politic."

I dont hate America by any means, I would not make such a sweeping generalisation,
BUT I hate fast food, all my favourite bands are British, my favourite films are British (or German), my favourite clothing brands are all European and British, and my favourite TV programmes are mostly British too... A lot of the imported American culture really irritates me. So dont assume that just because the adverts are the biggest and brightest that all the people are in love with the products.
I've also never been to America, and I don't plan on going, at least not to the US...it's not somewhere I'm particularly anxious to visit...

I'm sure there ARE people who don't like us in the UK. Let's be honest, you can't make everyone happy.

However, I don't think many Americans think the WHOLE of Britain hates them. I'm willing to bet many Americans never give it a second thought if they do or not. Not that they wouldn't care, but it just doesn't make the top 10 list of the day.

And, frankly, I'm willing to bet a great many Brits don't give a second thought about what America's doing or thinks either. Actually, they may care more since we were once part of the family, and have more in common than not.

I love the Brits. I think most Americans do. Just think of all the music and the bands that have come from Britain. I've been there and England is great.

This is the first that I've heard that Great Briton hates America. When I was there, I only met the loveliest nicest people. I never saw one bit of "America-bashing." Now when I when to France that was a different story. They purely hate American's there... whew! it was nasty!

I've actually been insulted and berated on here by several british people who feel that "us americans" think were better than everybody and so on and so forth. I think this way, because that's the way I've been treated by the majority of them...

but i DO appreciate that you don't feel that way :)
