Not Bill Clinton was never convicted for perjury and he survived the impeachment proceedings (that would not have led to jail time).
Scotter Libby should have gone to jail. He was sentenced by the court after all his due process rights were given to him and the judge had considered all matters in extenuation and mitigation. His sentence was well within his sentencing discretion. His commutation was transparently motivated by politics (considering this is the same president who so liberally dispensed with execution while GOV of TX...he's not a guy who favors clemency).
And realistically...how many people REALLY go to jail solely for perjury? Usually no one. Whether that is good or not, it's reality.
Now...should both of them be PUNISHED for lying. Yes. Bill Clinton was disbarred (about the only punishment that could be given out in the context of his perjury) and Scooter's fib cost him dearly ($250K I believe).

tribeca is funny making note that Clinton was found innocent by the senate. Must be tribeca was out of the country for the whole court ordeal where he was forced to surrender his license etc etc etc because he LIED under oath.
Libby like Bill, probably never should have been in court to begin with. Before Libby lied (or made contradicting statements unintentionally- who knows) Fitzy already knew that Clinton appointee Armitage was the "leaker" of the non covert Plame's name so maybe the fiasco should have been halted at that point.
I am more concerned about Berger stuffing classified documents in his pants (theft) and barely getting his hand slapped.
I am tired of politics becomming more about witch hunts than honest debate on policies. It is a sad commentary on not just our government but on us because WE buy into all the blind ideology like a bunch of lemmings

Lying in a deposition about having an affair would have gotten laughed out of court. It was an agreement to end the endless investigations which had all turned up empty.
They would just have gone on and on, as they already had.
So Bill agreed to plead guilty and give up his license to practice law. Lets remember that although he was impeached, he was acquitted and remained in office.
Libby, on the other hand was convicted in a jury trial, of lying to the FBI, and he was sentenced. He was also freed by an act of the very man he might have ratted on if he was actually faced with going to prison. His sentence, pronounced by jury and judge, was commuted by Presidential fiat.

the respond to your question is that maximum conservatives and American conservatism extra often than no longer isn't probably an ideology with principals and theory's yet extra a reactionary coalition against liberals. consequently it somewhat is often approximately human beings no longer approximately circumstances. in case you have an purpose known in accordance with central you may prepare it to each likewise challenge. in case you do not have an purpose known you may quite consistently call for the optimal punishment for those you do in contrast to and cut back any misdeed by utilising considered one of your very own

Bill Clinton was impeached for consensual sex in the White House. Scooter Libby endangered lives including an undercover CIA spy and many others, maybe even causing the deaths of some in other countries...we may never know., (by revealing the name of an undercover agent who was actually working to find Nuclear devices in the Middle East. Wait, isn't that TREASON? You decide. ) Both were mistakes...one is a bit more serious.

Clinton haters are beating a dead horse ---oh wait I think that is what Monica got caught doing in the oral orifice.
Seriously how stupid are you that you equate a BJ with endangering lives???
Wrong is NOT wrong in this case. Yes he was wrong to get a BJ from a skanky intern but it put no one in harms way except Bill himself cuz I know Hillary kicked the living sh*t out of him behind her closed doors!

With exception that Bill was acquitted at his impeachment and Libby was convicted, well I guess you're right.
Man I miss the days when presidential fellatio was the biggest malfeasance coming from the White House. What a bucolic time. Looking back it all seems so trivial and contrived.
Oh yeah, that's because it was.
