Simon Gamache has been put on waivers. Yep, the guy who was fighting for a spot for the past few weeks, only to lose it to Bell (legally, what can you do?). Personally, I thought Gamache has done well and earned a spot on the team or at least be sent back down to the Marlies. He has played a hell of a lot better than most of the regulars.

So right now, in my mind, Ferguson just lets him go for nothing. Or....is there something about how waivers works that I don't know and haven't factored in? Strategically saving a bit of cap space perhaps? Something along those lines?

Sorry, Steven, if a 10-year-old's rant is a little too complicated for you.

Gamache is on a 2 way contract, easier to send him down the Lakeshore

Because Gamache is not on an entry level contract, he has to clear waivers to be sent down.

Fergusen is a bad GM because he isnt a hockey fan
he doesnt understand what a fan favourite is and the bond that the fans have with the players
bell is better than gamache in my opinion
but gamache is better than devereux or newberry or one of those guys
but Fergusen is seriously THE worst GM in the league today im a die-hard leaf fan so i can go on forever about allllllll the mistakes he has made but if u know who simon gamache is im guna guess u already know
but the leafs will not win a cup with Fergusen as the GM
his goal is to make the playoffs not to win a cup
when u have the biggest hockey market in the world
the most money in the NHL
the best and most loyal fans in the NHL
and u cant make the playoffs two times in a row
he has every tool someone can ask for
hes just plain stupid thats all i can say

I have no idea... Poor Gamache though. I was quite surprised to see that Mark Bell would be in the lineup so quickly anyway! If he proves to be less than good for the Leafs, was it worth Gamache losing his spot and can JFJ possibly take any more heat? The guy HAS to be on fire by now. Hey, by the way, legally you can do anything... you don't get caught doing. ;)

LMAO, what's up with that "Steven R" guy telling you to elaborate?? Your additional info seems elaborate enough to me! (Maybe he didn't read it.) It was almost too much for me to take in, honestly, but I AM only NINE-years-old...

OMG, I came up with a new cheer:
KILL THE SENS!
FOR THE PENS!

Definitely the creativity of a nine-year-old at this point. Lol.

Hey, I hate the Sens!

KILL THE SENS
FOR THE PENS
KILL THE SENS
FOR THE PENS

Yay! That's a great cheer!

I was actually thinking that Gamache was pretty much guaranteed a spot. Man, the Leafs' GM is dumb. I remember he scored a couple goals, had a couple points here and there, played real good overall and then you waive him??? Well, I don't think anyone will sign him though, he'll just go back down to the minors.

~

Oh, and, btw, Mark Bell pisses me off and I don't think he'll do anything with the Leafs. I had him on a fantasy team last year and he was supposed to be good, but he killed my team!

the problem is there is too many 2ND 3rd line players and not enough spots to fill then bell, wellwood and tucker are all coming back soon bell and wellwood tonight. if your Ferguson who do you drop there are few players with 2 way contracts that i know of anyways i could be wrong and gamache has to clear wavers before they can send him to the Marley's. the way tlusty is playing i would rather see Gamache gone than him

It's either a cap thing or he may have used up all his trip tickets. It also might be a noble jesture since teams who claim him have to put him on their NHL roster. The kid didn't look too bad and does deserve some more time in the big league.
With all that being said and knowing that JFJr is not being the sharpest crayon in the box, which one do you choose?

And as I'm typing up pops the voice of reason again. Thx LITY.

It has to do with his age I think and how some players have to go through waivers to be sent down to the minors.
