Dutch is the official language of The Netherlands; a sister language Flemish (Vlamse) is spoken in the northern part of Belgium. Generally spoken in all former colonies (Aruba, St. Maarten, Indonesia etc.) but English is used for most business and trade and is required in school beginning at age 12.

nicely ... my wild guess may be that the Netherlands is the originating united states for the Dutch language. They talk it on various Caribbean islands, too, i think - islands that used to hitch the Dutch colonies. a by-made from Dutch, Afrikaans, is spoken in South Africa. wish that enables!
