Opinions Vary Greatly On This Subject....
How Often Should I Poop?
Ah - the big question! Experts disagree on how often a person should poop. The National Institute for Diabetes, Kidney, and Digestive Diseases says three times a week is normal and healthy for some people. According to Ayurveda, an ancient Indian healing system, once a day is ideal. Other experts advocate once or twice a day, while still others say a person should have a bowel movement within two to three hours of a major meal- -or two to three times a day. So you can see that it really depends on who you talk to. My personal opinion is that you above all want to be regular in your pooping schedule, and that one poop a day is ideal.
When someone poops four times a day or more and the poop has a liquid consistency, this is referred to as diarrhea. When someone poops less than two or three days a week and the poop is hard, dry, and difficult to pass, this is known as constipation.

It's normal but not healthy.
You are not likely eating enough fiber with your meals causing constipation.
You might also want to increase your water intake as this helps keep your stool soft and moving through you more efficiently.
Ultimately you want to have a bowel movement after each meal for optimum health. Minimum should be once a day!

It is not normal to have a bowel movement every 3-4 days. You should have a bowel movement every day and at least 1-2
times a day.You are not getting enough fiber in your diet.Fiber
helps your stool to pass faster and come out softer.Eating
enough fiber also prevents constipation

Hi Nooch! I'm not a doctor, but I thought is was more "normal" to go once a day. What does your diet look like? Maybe you could try eating more fiber or taking a fiber supplement. I know prune juice isn't such a tasty treat, but that helps things "move along," too. I would consult a doctor just to be on the safe side. Good luck!

it CAN be normal but it realy depends on what you eat, how much you eat, and your activity level. a sluggesh body makes for a sluggesh colon. to be sure i would make a food diary for 2 weeks and also record how many times you went poo, and what you did for exercise during that time. take that with you when you see your doctor and that info will help your doc determine what the problem is, it may be an underlying health problem, or it may be a need for change in your usual routine. you may simply need to go for a walk or something everyday to get things moving.

It's not abnormal but you should eat more fiber so that you will go more often. The longer you hold the waste in your intestines, the more calories are absorbed, and the more anaerobic respiration is at work (think stink bombs).
Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits (or frozen, but not so much juice), more whole grains (including oatmeal but NOT instant), and nuts. That will help.

Most of the stuff I've read recommends at least one bowel movement a day. The walnut-colored stool(s) should be soft and float in the water. Don't spend too much time staring at them, though. It's mesmerizing.

think about it......the mouth is one end of a tube....anus the other end of same tube. when something goes in one end of the tube (food) after a short "storage time (major digestion) in the stomach...something (bm) should come out the other.
once every 3-4 days not normal. 1/3 of fecal material is bacteria cleaned from your body

a bit un-normal
not going for 5 days is a problem:
going twice a day would be too much for you, I think.
Try to go once every other day - eat greens, veggies.
