I dont know if it would be classified as a bunker but back in the 60s during the big A Bomb Scare I had a Neighbor who built an underground Bomb or as they called it back then Fallout Shelter in his Back Yard. It was about 10 feet deep in the ground with a Concrete slab floor, concrete walls and ceiling !!!!

Yes. I've done both; built bunkers (two) and known someone who did (the guys who worked on the same job sites as I did.)
