Didn't Dems swear that Cheney needed to be impeached?

A top famous Dem introduced the resolution. Republicans supported it so that Dems could tell the entire world why Cheney should be impeached. Why did Dems vote against their own resolution?

Are the Dems basically saying that Dem. Dennis Kucinich was sort of an idiot for proposing the idea of impeaching Cheney?

"In a written statement, Hoyer reiterated that Democratic leaders have decided not to proceed with impeachment and criticized Republican leaders for attempting to force a debate on the resolution."

To ******* bad Hoyer. Maybe you should choose your party members better, huh? The Republicans have had enough of this crap and aren't giving the Dems a free ride in Congress. The Dems are in for what they gave the Republicans when they had a majority.

Haven't Republicans been complaining about Democrats wasting time and money on investigations? Right now Congress has more important things to do than waste their time with an impeachment that will last until the incumbents are no longer in office. At the moment, I believe there is a confirmation hearing going on for Attorney General. There is also important legislation being discussed. I hope that the constituents of the Republicans who are wasting their time with this divisive political dirty trick take it into consideration a year from now when they vote.

Kucinich made the motion on his own. The rest of the Dem's were not obliged to go along with it.

I would have liked at least one Dem to read into the record an article by Bruce Fein. He's a constitutional scholar, a lawyer and a conservative. In the article he makes the case for Cheney's impeachment.

One democrat made that proposal, one, singular and you're saying that he spoke for all democrats?? Yes, I'd say the idea of impeachment was put to rest 10 months ago. As Pelosi said, it would be a waste of time.

Kuchinich is not a "top" democrat, he's way out on the fringe. As it states in the article, the democratic leadership doesn't support impeachment.

Oh come on now, you can't blame the dems if they couldn't find anything to impeach him on, after all, they are just pissed that their President Clinton got himself impeached and disbarred.
