a heavy coat?? i guess that would be okay. personally i would wear a lighter jacket for 50 degrees. i live in the south so ive seen people wear coats when its 70

I generally put on a coat below 12*C which is about 53*F and don't tend to need one at or above that temperature. Works well.

For me, that will be almost the perfect weather. Some people do wear a light coat, but I seen people thinking they are at the Artic.

I wouldn't say for a winter coat but deffinitely a jaket! Do you live in NY? it just seems like a kind of NY question LOL it gets COLD here. Snowed already!

That depends on duration of exposure, At 50F I MIGHT think of a sweater, but definitely a light jacket at 40F

you wear a coat when YOU'RE cold, honey. the weather doesn't matter. if you're asking that for fashion reasons then yes, OF COURSE.
