No Boras isn't on drugs, the team that pays that is on drugs.

was this a reference to curt schilling, if so how much would you pay for randy johnson, he's one of the greatest lefties of all-time, schilling is old and not the same guy he was, it's not what you have done in the past but what can you do now. A-rod is quite possibly one of the best players ever and he's at the top of his game, obviously he is worth more than a washed up old pitcher

Consider that he only won 9 games for Boston in the regular season, and $8 million suddenly seems like a lot of money. Also consider that at his best, he contributes to less than 30 wins, while an everyday player with stats like A-Rod can help win 90+ games, and you see why there's a difference in salary.

Uhh.
A-Rod=30
Schilling=41

That might have something to do with it.
Plus, Schilling has a bunch of incentives that can raise that by about $5 million.

Curt Schilling is 40 years old, and has missed large chunks of time in 3 of the past 5 seasons.

Alex Rodriguez is the best player in baseball, and is in his prime. He's hugely marketable, too, in a way that Schilling has never been.

I agree. That's crazy!

Edit: Yeah the person below me is right. Boras isn't on drugs, the team that signs him will be on drugs. That means the Cubs.

Yes Cub fans give me a thumbs down. :)

8 mil plus easily reached incentives. I think it's up to 13 mil if the goals are reached. Don't forget that Curt has no agent to pay either.

That is crazy, but that is baseball. A-Rod and Boras thinks he is worth that much.

Considering that A-Rod is the main reason the Yankees made it to the playoffs I think it shows just how valuable he is.

Craig S. your argument may be correct but it still doesn't add up to g@yrod being worth anywhere near $30 million ayear.
