Why the hell are there insect legs in chocolate bars anyways?
Do they get in by accident or do they put them in on purpose?
Is this true for white and dark chocolate as well?

All processed food has insect parts included at no extra charge. The cost to remove all these imperfections would be overwhelming. If you check your fresh food with a microscope you would also find insect parts there as well. You can't have food growing out on the farm without insects getting to it. Harvest and washing does not remove it all, its only guaranteed to be dead.

It is true that most chocolate bars average 8 insect legs melted into them. Of all the places I've researched no brand of chocolate mentions insect legs. I would assume that the quality control to prevent any insect legs from entering the chocolate would be too costly to implement, as the entire facility would have to be a clean room.

So they just happen to get in there, they're not put in intentionally, and it is true for white and dark chocolate.

Because of the conditions in which they are made the FDA allows so much of insect legs, bodies and other parts in all foods. When you get a hair or two you will see what I mean. The rules need to be changed or businesses will keep on selling crap on the premise that it tastes good and not everyone will complain. Even if they knew the disease inherent in all foods caused by all of the extra crap in it, they will continue to eat it blissfully aware or unaware.
