You know It costs me $45 to fill up my car at $3.5 and it takes about 2 weeks to go empty.

At $5 that would be about, what $65? so about $40 more a month? At $7 I'm still at $91 a tank so still under a $100 a month more for me.

I guess what I'm saying is I don't really care what they do with their guzzlers. I've made these choices, and picked wisely.

Gas or food - tough choices ahead.

I doubt people will even cut back of driving, they will just gripe about the price and blame the President instead of the real culprit - themselves and the law of supply and demand. Today I watched a guy I work with, who makes 1/3 of what I do, fill his SUV with PREMIUM. He was at the next set of pumps from me, I didn't go to that set because the regular pump was out of order, but he pulled right up and selected the highest grade. I'm wondering how he can afford it.

I'm not holding my breath on that one. I do know one thing, it's going to hurt a lot of Americans and can only have even more negative effects. Wouldn't it be ironic if the oil industry eroded the economy into a recession while making record profits and receiving tax dollars?

Not me - I know this is a hard concept for many of you lefties to grasp, but work with me.

Some of us actually have a NEED for large vehicles. Blasphemy, I know - but there it is. See, we have a little farm. To properly run said farm, we often need to haul things. Big, heavy things. How much hay do you think I could haul with a piddly-*** hybrid?

Don't be so sneeringly judgmental about things you obviously know nothing about.

What do you think this is, France? We do not burn cars for fun, here.

You'd think more fuel-efficient vehicles would be selling better, though. For myself, I never forgot the 70s, and have /never/ owned a gas guzzler, let alone a Stupid Useless Vehicle (SUV).

Nope, but you live by the sword you die by the sword, gas price as market driven by supply and demand, you either get an alternative fuel source or you start drilling in the ANWAR and off our coasts, you can't have it both ways!

No, I would be in jail for choking the islamic gas station owners who put 10 cents on the meter before gas even comes out.

JIHAD IS IN THE GAS STATIONS!

I guess I will just have to use my car as a yard ornament right along side the old toilet that we now use as a planter. I guess I could store all of my gardening tools in it. What do you think?
