I've found I'm more likely to get a best answer if the answer has lots of white space in it - broken into short paragraphs or a list.
Even if I've said the same thing as everyone else, the white space makes it easier to read and understand.

Well since I'm rather incline to give verbose, well thought out & composed responses to even the most basic of questions ... I should say , you know , turn about is fair play. After all the person took an extra 60-75 seconds ( I know I've timed them) to compose the full answer.
I hope this answers your question if not look for my book coming out on the subject this Winter, Called Posting & Answering Questions on P&S the Best Way. It'll be 749 pages ... but on the good note ... its free of cost ... but on the bad side there will be pop quizzes.

I like short paragraphs. For some reason, they seem easier on my eyes then the really long, dense paragraphs.

When I see a long, long paragraph as part of a question or answer, I rarely read it.

Definitely small paragraphs! I hate having to read sentences that have been bunched all together, it's hard to read and sometimes I lose my place.

I don't like to read a paragraph with more than 8 sentences......it's makes my brain numb.
I usually pass those questions.

If the answer is a long one I like it broken down to help my tired old eyes process it!

usually if it's a tedious amount of reading that I must do just to understand what the person is asking..I'll drop it..however..there are some times where the question actually is appealing and worthwhile to read.
