My dad who is 56, has a really bad torn meniscus on his knee. I believe that there is literally nothing that the body cannot heal itself of an that this is about to be healed. I want to put him on a strict Vegan diet for at least 6 weeks with Hydrotherapy on the area 2 times a day. We are going to get this product that Dr. Schulze sells called deep tissue oil. Go to www.herbdoc.com to find it. It is an amazing herbal formula that heals bones, muscles, tendons and many various problems while also helping with the pain.

I do not want him to go through Surgery as I believe that that does not really help that much and surgery is something that should by all means, be avoided.

What else can he be doing for his knee to heal up. Even though they say it will not heal, I believe it will.

Sorry, I believe you're wrong on this one.

If the tear is small, you might be able to live with it. If it's as severe as you say, nothing but surgery will fix it. There's a very poor blood supply to the centre of the meniscus. If the tear is in any part of the middle zone, it WILL NOT heal.

Cartilage heals very slowly.. so this can be a quandary. I expect you are referring on your knee right here, due to the fact that that is in which so much meniscus tears occur. I tore my lateral meniscus in prime college, and it rather can not heal itself--it is going to traditionally best worsen. There is a system that may be performed by way of an orthopaedic medical professional in which the cartilage is repaired. This is completed utilising three very small incisions (holes, honestly), within the knee (arthroscopy). The small tear is repaired, and the knee should be in most cases immobilized and non-weight bearing for six weeks. If you are younger and healthful, and the tear is not too huge, the meniscus will heal. In any one older they might simply take away the torn component, however this is not a well inspiration for any one younger due to the fact that you wish to preserve up to you'll for so long as you'll! The therapy time is a suffering, however good valued at it. I am 7 years submit-op and my knee is in nice situation, even via aggressive tennis, and so on. The quandary with torn cartilage is that it is going to worsen if left untreated! This ends up in suffering, clicking, and locking of the joint. Best to get it handled at the same time the damage is moderate! Good good fortune!

Diet has nothing to do with a torn meniscus. How would what you eat and runs through your digestive system have anything to do with your knee? A good diet can help a lot of things.... but not knee ligaments/tendons.

Sorry but Dad needs to see an orthopedist. Depending on the nature and size of the tear - surgery may not be required at this time. However, if the tear is bad - some type of surgical intervention and physical therapy may be the only options.

It cannot be healed. If he wants to not be miserable, he needs an orthopedic surgeon to repair it. I have had both menisci torn for a few years and they will only get worse with time. I had them repaired along with an acl reconstruction and am glad i did. I can now enjoy life without worrying about my knee locking up or giving out.
