Good question. It seems that is the basic thinking for many posters on YA now. If you don't like someones politics or agree with what they say...just report them.
It's sad that some people don't realize that by silencing others opinion they only ones left they can turn on are others just like them.

Unfortunately, some people have no respect for others political opinions (or other opinions for that matter). I know I do get a "little" fired up at some questions, but I still respect the fact that everyone has their opinion. If anything, I just give a thumbs down if I don't agree with someone. No big deal. Unless it's very vulgar or discriminatory, I won't report. I think that if YA got rid of the report button and made an address to report to, the amount of reported people would decline. Too easy to just click a button on the mouse.

Yes it has happen to me 3 times in the last 3 weeks and the answer people never get back to you when you question it. They have a link to go to but never get back to you.
From what I have seen the ones on the Left seem to report at a much greater rate those they disagree with than those on the Right. I guess that goes along with the Right support of freedom over the Left support of govt control of the people (I guess I will get reported for that remark). My remarks has been PG at best where there are XXX answers to the same questions that are left up.
I also have noted that you can say anything you want about Pres. Bush and it is left up but attack someone on the Left too hard and the questions come down.

Not by me. If you are blatant and use foul language or are so extreme I thumbs down. If you create a violation notice I always remember what I have posted. Threats and harassment don't fly. All I can say is I write back every time to customer care. And I have a memory like a steel trap.
Never if I disagree. EVER. But is Heart & Troll the one because I saw him on poke_the _bear and in Survey's that has to be the top contributor of trolldrum ever !

there isn't any question that folk abuse the reporting equipment. It happens lots in the political area. a lot of human beings on the two factors of the political divide use it to eliminate content cloth they do no longer believe. individually the only component I checklist is absolute slanders and that content cloth which in some way might desire to reason quite harm to somebody (i.e. pedophile pastime or threats of violence). regrettably it is been my adventure that Yahoo isn't very clean approximately what constitutes abuse and their enforcement many situations seems to be as much as the whim of guy or woman reviewing the case. I surely have seen very solid solutions that have been deleted, at an identical time as flagrant violations of the reported "words Of service" are allowed to stand. solid success with your assessment, yet i does no longer anticipate getting the determination reversed via fact it would not ensue very often.

I think we should all respect each others opinions on any subject and if we're going to make comments we have to understand as readers and writes that we might offend or get offended the only time i' report people is when they offend a person directly like last month a guy answered a question by saying "because your ******* stupid" or something like that. one thing is having an opinion another is being a rude jerk. I mean we learn this in elementary treat others as you wish to be treated Common F***ing RESPECT people. i see people calling others fat and stupid and all sorts of names. those are the ones that we should report. not the ones posting their opinions and advice for the rest of us to feed our minds with.
sorry i got a little carried away. "But Honestly now, who throws a Cupcake?"

no one is more conservative than i, but i respect the right of everyone to have their own views on religion, politics, sex or what ever. i know some don't like my answers, by the amount of violations i receive. i don't spend any time worrying over it, though. i really would like to meet those who sit in judgement of me, so i could see just how superior they're NOT.
have a nice day.

I don't believe in reporting. I think the reporting option should be completely removed. People should be grown up enough to deal with points of view they disagree with.
