The problem is I was stuck between the sizes of a north face jacket. http://www.thenorthface.com/opencms/opencms/tnf/gear.jsp?site=NA&model=AF5D

medium or small? Are these jackets meant to be worn big so you can wear a thick sweater inside?

So what would you choose if you were stuck between sizes for any kind of jacket or shirt??

I would chose medium since I don't like clothes to fit too tight and then there is also room to wear a sweater underneath.

I would go with a medium, just because the jacket looks like it would be very uncomfortable if it were to be small even though it might fit you. Plus there's no big difference from size small to medium, you'll just feel more comfortable.

Medium

Judging from the look of that jacket, I would play it safe and buy the Medium. It looks like it's meant to have something else worn underneath it, and if it happens to be too small, it would be extremely uncomfortable.

ALWAYS go up a size when stuck in between sizes. A too-small jacket will tug and be uncomfortable over sweaters. This also applies to all clothing, especially jeans--muffin top, anyone???

If you pick the small be sure the arm length is long enough and not too short. The jacket is meant to look small and fit, you don;t usally wear heavy shirts underneath them.

I guess i would go with the medium. So you could wear something under it comfortably. Plus you never know if it will shrink in the wash.

Northface jackets were meant to fit a little snug to exentuate your curves. So in this case, small.
