Im going to be getting either a 360 or ps3 for this Christmas season. I had origionally thougth of getting the 40gb ps3 since it is only 50 more than the premium, but then i started to question this because of the lack of games that are splitscreen (we like to game together in the same room for late night parties). I have a few questions for 360 owners?
1) anybody thought of getting ps3 but got 360 instead, and are you glad you did?
2) the RRoD scares me a bit, but im hoping that the premiums will have the falcon chip this season, so has anybody never had a problem with the RRoD? and about how long to get it back from repairs if you have?
3) knowing about the RRoD, do you play differently, i mean do you like find your self playing for short periods of time or do you not care and play for extended periods of time?
4) is buying an HDMI cable worth it over the supplied component cable?
5) lastly what all is included in the premium package, is the play and charge included?

1. I have a 360 and have thought about getting a PS3 but haven't yet. I will keep my 360 regardless.
2. I have had the RRoD on my launch system after owning for 1 year. it took less than 2 weeks to get a new unit in return. The new unit has ran flawlessly.
3. I haven't changed my playing style and sometimes leave my 360 on for hours, especially since halo 3 has arrived.
4. HDMI if hooked directly to a tv does not have any benefit over Component, Only when hooked to a receiver that supports certain audio codecs that HDMI can output does it make a difference. None at all in Picture. Play and charge kit most likely isn't included, wasn't when I bought mine.

Well, first off.. the PS3 is too expensive. But if money is not a problem and you don't know which to choose, you should go with the xbox 360. The games are way better and graphics are the same as the PS3. I dont know much about the cables you're talking about. I got my 360 when it first came out which was a bad idea because it had a bunch of bugs in it. It's currently in repair because of that. But Microsoft fixed all bugs so it is the crap.
And you can't forget about Halo 3. People think it's way overrated but i really enjoy playing it.

I was a playstation guy but I think the 360 is a better system with better games and more of them. I have no idea what the rrod hdmi whatever crap is you're rambling about but all I know is it doesn't matter. My friends have left their xbox 360s running for 12 hours straight and they are perfectly fine. They get used and abused but still work great. Just don't move the 360 console while the disc is being read or you will end up with a scratched up 60 dollar game that doesn't work.
Good Luck

I have a Wii, X360 and PS3.
I'd buy an Xbox 360, if I could only choose one. The X360 has the best library, Xbox Live works really well(network and voice) and the controller is better than the Six-Axxis for the PS3.
I like the PS3's Blu-Ray player, and it's finally coming alive(like today), with a 1080p version of Call of Duty 4. But usually PS3 really lags on the release schedule compared to the Xbox 360.
HDMI is not completely necessary. It depends on the quality of your TV. Component and 1080i with Digital Optical is great. HDMI is convenient and cool if you have a nicer system. Picture quality isn't massive.
I'd buy a refurbished X360 at Gamestop for 260.

I love 360 and Xbox live is way better and more organize than PSN. I have had the RRoD and microsoft took care of it right away and free. Every xbox 360 has a three year warranty, not too much the game selection 4 times that of PS3. GO with the Xbox.

I love my 360 to be honest though I know nothing about PS3 other than they have some cool spiderman graphics in their ads. My 360 did crap out it was one of the first before MS was aware of the defect. So I had to pay. The repair took about two weeks round trip. And then without me complaining or asking a check and a letter arrived in the mail for a refund of my repair costs. That was pretty cool. After the repair I abuse my 360 playing for 10-12 hours straight or more multi player mostly so it gets a work out. It's been repaired for about a year and no problems since.

I have an xbox 360 and very glad i did because there is alot more games and online is awsome. Also i have one of the original xbox 360 around when it first came out and i don't get why everybody is having these problems. I have had my xbox 360 for 1 year and 8 monthes and have never gotten a red ring of death and never had to send in for problems. I just think that people don't know how to take care of there stuff.

2) RRoD should scare you, its not even that you have to wait a month to get it back, but that they will give you older parts, not only NOT fixing it but making it more prone to fail.
Get the PS3, price is pretty much same (depends where you live, Its exact same in Vancouver, Canada) and with PS3, you get blueray, free wifi & online. The games are coming soon (a bunch in the next 2 months). The PS3 will last you years, and the graphics will get better, online can only get better, It can only go up!!! So get the PS3!
