Take a couple of examples.
If erythrocytes did not carry oxygen you would be dead.
If brain cells did not register any response you would be dead.

LOL omg the sheer magnitude of that question nearly caused my head to explode - not even people who study biology their whole lives know everything about cells - there must be trillions in the body and at least 25,000 individual ones if not more, seeing as its a statistic I made it up on the spot - and are part of an infinite number of interelated mechanisms - you're question is absurb :) you might want to narrow it done a little bit, you can actually spend your entire life studying a yeast cell.
