I'm scene, and there was this girl last year who would buy things that were like mine but like different colors so I didn't worry about it too much. But this year she's bought several things that are exactly like mine. Everyone thinks she's weird and a lot of people thought she was gay because she did everything I did last year. I've already confronted her and told her that 'It's cool if you like what I have, but getting the same stuff as me is kinda freaky.' and she replied, in a smart-alicky tone, 'I don't pay attention to what people have when I go shopping.' Help? What should I say?

Okay, ignoring the first three answers...

It's not that I hate the girl. She's really nice, but when I noticed it first when we'd talk in the hall, I'd just kinda brush it off, but then 4 people in one day came up to me and said '____ has on almost the same exact thing you have on.' and I was just kinda 'Eh, :/' You know?

And sorry to the second girl. I have a habit of saying like a lot.

She is trying to find her identity and likes yours. If you talk to her a bit and compliment her on what she got but tell her you think something else would look better on her, be better for her, and offer to go shopping with her, you may find that she just needs that friendship and you will have a good friend for life.
she need someone to talk to and perhaps counseling and perhaps you can have a talk with a counselor at school, assuming you are still in school, but as I say, you may find a good friend by talking to her and helping her to find her own sense of herself and what she buys and wears. Good Luck!!

Wow, bit full of yourself, aren't you? Haven't you ever heard the saying "imitation is the best form of flattery?" Get over it. So you're a trend-setter and someone buys the same things you buy and show off... so what? Time for you to grow up.

for one, I hate the saying "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". it's not. imitation is boring. I had the same kind of problem with one of my friends when I was younger. I just ignored her and pretty soon I forgot all about her. she can imitate all she wants but she'll never be you. there's nothing you can do about her actions. just ignore her and continue to be yourself. people see you for who you really are and don't think you're imitating her so it's all good.

How do you know she pays attention to you, maybe she just likes what you wear, My girlfriend does that, its called fashion trends. Everyone copies each other to an extent. Are you sure its not you who is paying attention to her.
