I am trying to find a new birth control method. I've tried the pill but haven't found one to work with my body and don't want to try any more.

I've thought about the ring. I think that is what I would really like to try but don't know much about it or the others to make a decision. The hormones in the pill gave me really bad mood swings, which is why I ended it. Will the other likely give me the same issues or not?

What should I pick and why?

the patch and ring are both very good choices because the release of hormones is steady and even and your hormone levels are not fluctuating as much. this decreases potential side effects greatly. personally, i prefer the ring because i'm not crazy about having the same patch stuck to my skin for a whole week at a time. (it gets dirty looking). i had horrible breakthrough bleeding on all pills i have taken and the shot (is the worse). i have no breakthrough what so ever on the nuvaring.

I can only tell you about one of those from personal experience. Don't take the shot!!!

The shot has horrible side effects. If you had mood swings on the pill, you will be miserable on the shot. I had mood swings, weight gain, skin problems, no sex drive, depression and hair loss on the shot.

It is not worth it.

I have a friend on the ring, and she really loves it. I don't know much else about it, though.

Ask your doctor about the pros and cons of each. He (or she) should be able to give you a good idea.

I was on the shot and I say STAY AWAY!

It was horrible. I'm appalled its still being administered.
