Hold a grudge?? I know they say you should forgive and let go but I just can't right now. What would you do?

That quote is a lot easier said than done. Grudges and anger can consume you. I know it's hard. I've held grudges on 2 people for years. Still am. Don't know if I will ever forgive, as they hurt me horribly, and on purpose.

You don't have to forgive anyone you are not ready to forgive. Take your time and reflect on the whole situation until you reach some level of neutrality. When you do, that is the time to let go. There is no benefit to holding a grudge, and in time it wears on your health. Honestly, I think that is the best reason to let go. When you are ready and you do let go, you will find you also grow in compassion and other ways of love.

You forgive for yourself not for your enemies. It doesn't mean you're going to be best buddies again and everything is all nonchalant. What it means is that you forgive to have inner peace for yourself so you can move on and focus on more important things that are of priority in you life. The more you dwell on your "grudges," the more bitter you become. Life is too short to be bitter and miserable.

I stopped holding grudges years ago. It doesn't make the other person feel bad -- it only eats away at you inside.

If someone apologizes, I forgive them an move on. If someone doesn't apologize, I just write them off and don't have anything to do with them.

Life is just too short to waste time wallowing in resentments.

Let some time pass... Its easier to forgive once the sting has worn off. In the meantime just avoid the person or people and move on with your life.

Depends on the severity of their actions. I know 1 individual in my life I can never forgive. The rest I've moved on past.

yup, forgive and let go. It takes too much energy to stay mad at someone and makes you unhappy at the end. If your enemy did something terrible, karma will come back to haunt them. NO need to live your life with hate.

Generally, I'm a pretty lazy person, and bearing grudges is an effort.
