I just had a C-section over a month ago..My doctor prescibed me some hormones to get my period started back. I just started my period today and I'm supposed to start taking my birth control this Sunday..Question is..How long does it take for birth control to go into full effect?

It will be in full effect after 1 week of the active hormone pills
So you're starting today in the inactive sugar tablet section, right? When you get through that bit, then you get into the active pills ... after you've had seven of THOSE you will have effective contraception.

If you start the first day of your period it is effective immediately. If you start the Sunday following, it is effective in 7 days.

you have to wait at least a week but some people wait a full cycle to make sure
