First, areas do not have human characteristics. Where is your worksheet?

The Northern Plains (the areas most people think of) is either flat or rolling terrain, gradually rising towards the Rocky Mountains as you go west. Most of the area is open and grassy or bushy, since the rainfall is not enough to support forests except along waterways. The area supported a large quanity of animal life, particularly the buffalo.

Most of the Indians were hunters, because agrigculture was not well-developed (no Deere tractors rolling from north to south to harvest the wheat). For this reason, they lived in tepee-type structures, which were relatively easy to put up and take down, and which they could take with them if they moved. The buffalo was the main meat source.
