I been asking questions on a good reptilian or amphibian pet (They have to be harmless to me granddad because he has diabetes). most people answered anoles, are they good for me and if so, what do they need to survive and how much do they usually cost? What do they eat? Whats their lifespan?

Green Anoles are most commonly available in pet shops for about $8.99 and relatively easy to keep.
A 10 gallon aquarium w/screen lid, potting soil w/no pesticides or fertilizer, a small live plant-Peace Lily, small dish for water/meal worms, small spray water bottle, 8" dome reflector and 50-70 watt reptile day lite full spectrum bulb are the required items.
Preferred food is live crickets or meal worms but usually not both, depends what they first started eating. Love to eat Moths also.
The normal lifespan of pet shop Anoles is about a year but we have had a few customers whose lived up to 5 years.
One of the most important things to remember for longevity is to mist the cage with water about twice a day.
Anoles usually will not drink from a water dish.
We have noticed, customers who mist the cage, have the Anoles that live longest. It is suggested Anoles are kept in the cage because they bite and run fast, but are very interesting to observe.
Easy to tell the male from female, as male has a dewlap that extends out from under the chin, when excited.
Keep Anoles together of equal size or the bigger male will beat up the smaller weaker ones.
Always wash up with Germ-x after handling because any reptile can carry Salmonella.

Well, it really depends on the type of Anole. They're small and certain species are VERY VERY hyper. They are generally cheap. 20 dollars at the most. They eat crickets and mealworms and although I'm not 100% sure of their lifespan, I know they can live for at LEAST 4 years.
