Do you mean a headshot?

If so you can either go to a proffessional photographer (but make sue you know what kind of headshot you want. Like what kind of photo would best represent you. Like someone sexy or someone sweet?), or take the picture of yourself at home and edit it with photoshop. For theatre you should have few different looks in the picture, like different attitudes. Do not cover your face with anything or wear sunglasses or overly distracting jewelery. Make-up should be at a minimum. It should be like a portrait. Your shoulders and face. If you need a headshot for a commercial make sure you look happy. It is printed in black and white and make the photo either glossy, semi glossy, or matte. It must be a 8"by 10" and should have your name on the bottom or top of the picture in case it gets seperated from your resume.
