Go to the dealership and they will sell you a manual that will instruct you on what to do. Good Luck and God Bless

Mitchell, Alldata, and Haynes are a few of the makers of automotive manuals, and all have websites. These days rebuilding an engine is not cost efficient - not when companies like Jasper will sell you a rebuilt one that has a 3 year 75,000 mile warranty. To properly do this job, many components need to be checked and machined. Several special tools will be needed, and many of the parts you need will be quite expensive. If an engine had the damage you speak of, I would want to replace every moving component. If there wasn't enough lubrication for the crankshaft, there wasn't enough for the rest of the engine. When you start adding the price of a camshaft, bearings and all of the valve train (among other things), you're going to be approaching the price of another engine. Another less expensive option is to buy a junkyard engine. The 4.7 is generally a solid engine, and should be fairly easy to find. Whatever you decide to do - good luck to you.
