Depends on where you live, what she wants to do, how old she is, if you are willing to move, what experience she has and the amount of dedication on both your parts you want to put into it. If you live in a major city, I would start with community and non-equity theater, acting classes, etc. You can go to open calls at agencies and a lot of them will give you an opinion on your look and where to go for legit photos, etc.

If you live in a smaller city, town, there should be a community theater community out there, search for it and embrace it. It's a good place to get stage time and experience. There should be a local talent agency too, that's a good place to start locally and they are usually associated with bigger agencies, etc.

It's about talent, timing and luck. You never know.
But people make it, I know some who have.
