GHz is the calculatons per second it can perform. Yes it has everything to do with it .A computer is just a complicated adding machine.Other things can slow it down, low memory or a fragmented hard drive.

Yes and no....it really depends on how you are using the machine. I fast processor will do you little good if you have limited RAM.....furthermore if you are gaming on your laptop a slow response time and lag has more to do with your video card. If you are running slow on the web....well that has more to do with they type of connection you have (ie. dial up or broadband). It also depends on the type of processor (ie. Celeron compared to Core Two Duo). There are a lot of variables to consider when answering this question. Hope this helps.

Yes it does. GHz or gigahertz is a measurement of speed and 1GHz is 1 billion cycles per second. Contrasting with MHz or megahertz is 1 million cycles per second.

YES! It affects your CPU and RAM. Since the CPU is slower, that makes your computer slower. If you live anywhere, I recommend Intel. It protects against international security viruses. Still, if you can't afford Intel, try AMD.
P.S. What are you using NOW (to write that question)?

yes, Hertz is how cycles per second are measured. The more Hertz the more Cycles your CPU, RAM, and GFXcard can render in a second. mean faster reactions and less waiting.
