My band has been together for a little over a year. I'm planning a tour for next Spring/Summer. This will be our first tour, and we are planning to tour the midwest. Areas such as Kansas City (where we currently are), Sioux City, Des Moines, etc... We have a van, but it's pretty run down, and has bad mileage. None of us can afford a new car/van and we're looking for some help. Does anyone have any advice on our transportation issue? Also, does anyone know of any good venues/bars in the midwest? I'm looking for any help/advice here on touring, so please take some time and give me some ideas.

Thanks.

We're working on finding a tour manager, but at the moment, we don't have one. So any advice would be appreciated.

Look into a long-term rental of a van from Ryder, Hertz, U-Haul or one of those companies. It might be cheaper in the long run, and the expense is a total write-off tax wise.

The last thing you want is to be late or a no-show because of car trouble (or any reason).

The best thing you can do is be professional, show up on time in a reliable vehicle with reliable equipment... and do a great job, of course. Then you're likely to be asked back.

peace

Why don't you find a manager?
